About the Department

The Education Department runs courses for surgeons and the wider surgical team from foundation to consultant level and across the surgical specialties.

Our unique courses are:

  • developed by appointed surgical tutors in conjunction with specialty associations;
  • support the Foundation and ISCP curricula;
  • delivered both at the College’s world class skills teaching workshops and regionally through quality assured national networks;

Foundation level – courses are available which support foundation trainees in general and in particular those in a surgical rotation.

Core Surgical Training – a well established package of courses to develop essential skills for trainees at CT1/2, especially as they prepare for the exams.

Specialty training – a comprehensive range of courses across all the specialties and sub-specialties from specialty skills training for CT1s to masterclasses for established consultants.

Continuing Professional Development – supporting the continuing professional development of surgeons throughout their career in particular in supporting the trainer.
