Module One
- Airways pitfalls in facial trauma and infections
- Cervical pitfalls in facial trauma
- Laryngeal and oesophageal injuries
- Skills1: Airway management and surgical airway
- Skills2: Non-traumatic epistaxis
- Skills3: Facial haemorrhage
- Skills4: Fracture stabilisation (IMF, bridle wire, external fixator)
Module Two - Cadaveric dissections
- Carotid bifurcation, carotid sheath
- Lower border (submandibular)
- Fascial spaces (for i&d)
- Orbit (retrobulbar)
- Tracheostomy
- Larynx (cricothyroid)
- External fixation (mandible/midface)
Module Three
- Pitfalls in dilemmas facial haemorrhage
- Contaminated wounds and tissue loss
- Pitfalls in eye injuries
- Life/sight threatening infections
- Skills1: Acute wound management (reconstruction ladder)
- Skills2: Eye examination
- Skills3: Tissue space infections and drainage
- Skills4: Haemostasis (diathermy, ligaclips etc)
Module Four - Clinical Scenarios
- Pitfalls in dilemmas facial haemorrhage
- Airway (post op resection and blocked trachea tube)
- Bleeding (post op osteotomy)
- Vision threatening injury
- Stabilisation for transfer
- Debrief summary and discussions
