This two day course has been designed to provide training for trainers involved with learning in human simulators.

During the course the participants will learn how to:
- Develop scenarios around ultra high risk and performance critical events
- Differentiate between high and low fidelity simulation
- Prepare the simulated environment appropriately
- Provide appropriate briefing to learners
- Structure debriefing effectively
- Provide useful and balanced feedback to support learning
- Evaluate ways of getting the most from the debrief
- Outline the impact of individual personality on team work
- Consider the use of categorising personality traits for learning
- Plan a scenario, set it up in the simulator and brief learners appropriately
Aim: to train faculty to use human simulation for learning
Target: Any clinician who uses or who plans to use simulation as a learning tool including PSTT course faculty

This course forms the third module of the well-regarded Train the Trainer series and builds on the skills relating to working with small and large groups, teaching surgical skills and assessing learners.
