Specialty Skills in Coloproctology Stage 2 (ST6-8)

This course has been developed in collaboration with the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI). This specialty skills course is mapped directly to the Intercollegiate Surgical Curriculum Programme (ISCP) to give you the formal grounding you will need as you progress through your specialty training to prepare you for becoming a consultant. It develops the skills learned in the Stage 1 course and offers the participant opportunities to focus on advanced coloproctology. With a heavy focus on practical teaching and interactive discussions, the course aims to create a relaxed learning environment, giving you the ideal opportunity to interact with the teaching faculty and other delegates alike. Run in the new, state of the art Wolfson Surgical Skills Centre you will be able to work on cadaveric human anatomical specimens, adding invaluable educational value to this two day event. Faculty are carefully chosen for their broad range of clinical experience and ability to engage with delegates.

Learning outcomes/benefits

The course is directly linked to the ISCP syllabus. Participants will learn about the management of a wide range of colorectal conditions, both benign and malignant. Participants will have the opportunity to study colorectal anatomy and practice abdominal and pelvic dissection upon cadavers.
