Basic Surgical Anatomy of the Head and Neck
This course aims to improve knowledge of the applied anatomy of the head and neck, therefore developing an understanding of the application of this knowledge to the diagnosis and surgical management of the head and neck.

Applied anatomy of:
- Skin fascia and muscles of scalp and face
- Salivary glands
- Infratemporal fossa
- Anterior neck - thyroid and parathyroid
- Lateral neck
- Upper, middle and lower thirds of face
- Larynx and trachea
- Pharynx and upper oesophagus
- Oropharynx
Interactive lectures around indicative operations including:
- Coronal flap, rhytidectomy, local flaps
- Submandibular gland excision, parotidectomy
- Malar osteotomy, transoral access
- Thyroidectomy
- Radical neck dissection, selective neck dissection
- Frontal sinus repair, orbital blow out/decompression
- Rhinoplasty, FESS, Le fort I
- Labiomanbidulotomy, sagittal split
- Tracheostomy, laryngectomy
- Pharyngolaryngectomy
- Floor of mouth ablation and reconstruction
