Definitive Surgical Trauma Skills (DSTS)

This is a two-day hands-on practical cadaveric workshop course for civilian surgeons who are relatively inexperienced in trauma, but who may be required to perform life-preserving surgery on severely injured patients during the course of their duties, and for military and humanitarian surgeons who may deploy singularly or in small groups to conflict zones.

Now in it's 11th successful year, the 'DSTS' course has recently undergone revision, making it even more case scenario and practical based than ever before.

Ideal for both civilian and military surgeons alike, the course teaches how to make life saving decisions and perform under pressure in a trauma and emergency environment.

During the two intensive day course you, and experienced international faculty, will explore the different surgical exposures for thoracic, abdominal and vascular injuries, and their subsequent repair.

You will learn about decision making, epidemiology and emerging technologies and will cover the essentials of the relevant surgical anatomy including demonstrations on real anatomical surgical prosections.
