Professionalism in Surgery: Operating Within the Law

The aim of the day is to provide updates on medicolegal, patient safety and professional issues, which will be delivered through a series of lectures and interactive question and answer sessions.

The programme includes the following topics:

  • The Legal System – The Coroner, Clinical and Criminal Negligence
  • Dealing with Problems – ARCP’s, Remediation and Human Factors Training
  • What are the Regulators Doing the GMC, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service and HQIP (publication of results)
  • The View from the Top Role of the Medical Director and the College
