Examinations

The Examinations and Assessment Department runs postgraduate surgical and dental examinations on behalf of the Royal College of Surgeons and its Dental Faculty. From this site you can download application forms, regulations, syllabi, dates, fees, results and guidance material for all the examinations.  

The department is responsible for over 20 examinations each year, both in the UK and overseas. Many examinations are held at the College, but we also use centres and hospitals all over the UK and in selected overseas venues. Our friendly staff are present at all examinations to assist you.

Our examiners are all practising or just retired surgeons, dental surgeons, doctors and dentists.  All examiners participate in a rigorous training course before they can examine, and they are all assessed regularly during examinations. The examinations themselves are also subject to both internal and external quality assurance checks.

You are also welcome to call in person at our Reception Office on the ground floor of the College in Lincoln's Inn Fields which is open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
