Miss Kathryn Harley FDS RCS
I took over as the 23rd Dean of the Faculty of Dental Surgery on 24 June 2011. We have some 4,500 fellows and members of the Faculty, and together with the Faculty of General Dental Practice, we represent a significant presence of dental surgery at The Royal College of Surgeons of England. Over the past 64 years we have continued to provide a voice at national level for dentistry and oral surgery. We have provided informed specialist help and advice in the United Kingdom and all over the world. The Faculty continues to play a leading role in the broad range of professional activities and development, particularly in quality assurance and examinations. Much information is available on this website about the activities of both the Faculty and The Royal College of Surgeons in England.
Our Priorities For 2012 And Beyond is a four-page document which clearly states the Faculties' priorities for 2012 onwards, outlining the key issues affecting patients and patient care, and offering a call for action for each one with the aim of achieving the best and safest healthcare for all.
