The 2013 FDS Research Competitions are now closed
Since 2008 the Faculty of Dental Surgery has been committed to promoting oral and dental surgery research.
On an annual basis, the Faculty invite applications for the following grants and fellowships:
FDS Small Grants
The Faculty awards up to five small research grants up to the value of £10,000 each per year. These small grants are designed to meet research consumables costs for new or existing projects. These grants are designed primarily for early career researchers or lecturers and not for individuals who are well established in research.
FDS Research Fellowships
The Faculty will support Research Fellowships of up to two years duration, in any aspect of specialist dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery.
The Fellowship award will cover salary, on-costs and research consumable costs.
Joint FDS - Wellcome Trust Research Fellowships
The Faculty, in conjunction with the Wellcome Trust invite applications for full-time clinical research training fellowships (of at least two years in duration). The proposed research should be of relevance to oral and dental health.
The Fellowship award will cover salary, on-costs and research consumable costs.
