The Collections
The Library of the Royal College of Surgeons of England has an outstanding collection of books ranging in scope from the 15th century onwards, which chronicles the development of British surgery.
Why we need your help
At the current rate of restoration it will take over 50 years to cope with our immediate conservation needs, by which stage many volumes will be beyond repair.
It is therefore essential that we act now if this unique surgical legacy is not be lost to future generations.

Since January 2007 the Adopt a Book scheme has raised the fantastic sum of £6960.00 enabling the library to bring 46 books back to their former glory. We would like to offer our sincere thanks to all friends of the appeal for their gifts.
Our newsletter
In March 2008 the scheme issued its first biannual newsletter its aim being to keep donors in touch with the ongoing work of the appeal.
