What's in the library and archives

Introduction to the current and historical collections of the library and archives.

Please follow the links on the menu to the left and the library catalogues for further details of our collections.

Current collections

The collections and facilities in the Lumley Study Centre support the professional development needs of Diplomates, surgical and dental trainees and staff. Collections include:

  • Key texts on surgery, anatomy and dentistry
  • Print journals relating to surgery, dentistry, medical education and other healthcare issues
  • Access to a number of electronic journals and databases (dependent on the library user's relationship with the College)
  • CD-ROMs and multimedia packages including the Medika MCQ simulator

Historical collections

The library also houses a unique collection of historical significance. The following materials may be of interest to researchers of the history of medicine and surgery, and genealogy:
