RCS responds to GMC training survey

“The Royal College of Surgeons has always said that the EWTR is not a problem for at least half of the health service and the GMC survey results reflect this. But for those doctors working in 24 hour, acute emergency settings, restrictions under the EWTR has created a training nightmare. A recent RCS survey showed that two thirds of trainees reported a decline in training under the directive. Although it is useful to see the results of these paper based assessments, the RCS wants a return to the face to face visits previously carried out by the Royal Colleges in order to properly assess the problems and training needs in the health service.”
