Comment on BBC Radio 4's 'The Report: Surgeons under Scrutiny'

06 December 2012

Commenting on tonight’s BBC Radio 4 programme, The Report: Surgeons under Scrutiny, Professor Norman Williams, President of The Royal College of Surgeons, said:

"The Royal College of Surgeons is committed to promoting transparency within surgery. We encourage all surgeons to participate in relevant audits and data collection and where ever possible make the outcome available to patients.

We want to work with the government to ensure that the relevant outcome data is produced in such a way that it is both reliable and relevant to patients and will drive forward improvements in surgery rather than set them back.”
