He has also been a member of PMETB assessment working group and was surgical lead for the Scottish intercollegiate guidelines network.

Chris is delighted to take up the chairmanship of which will be a challenging three year position. Chris says "this a time of considerable change in surgical assessment with the implementation of the new Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSBE) based intercollegiate MRCS exam in October 2008. The new exam will be a very robust assessment tool of high standard and will have significant educational impact and validity to all involved".
