Leader of the Opposition David Cameron gave a keynote speech yesterday (04.11.09) about the European Union, which contained a specific pledge on the European Working Time Regulations (EWTR). Mr Cameron committed his party to negotiating an opt-out from some areas of EU social and employment legislation – including the EWTR, saying they were causing “real problems” in the NHS.
This shows that the College’s work with policy makers, other stakeholders and the media is effective – but there is more still to be done. For more information about the College’s EWTR campaign, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
