The Royal College of Surgeons has launched a new edition of its popular course Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient [CCrISP] which provides surgical trainees at the early stage of their careers with an essential grounding in dealing with the most ill patients.
Established in the early nineties, with funding from the Hillsborough Trust, the course has been a huge success with over 20,000 trainee surgeons completing it to date.
The new, updated edition brings the course in line with current practice and safety standards, including a new practical session on interpreting monitors.
