Professional Standards
Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of surgical practice and patient care is the primary aim of the College. 'Professional Standards' relates to how well a service is delivered, both at a departmental level and by individual members of the surgical team.
The Royal College of Surgeons of England is committed to enabling surgeons to achieve and maintain the highest standards of surgical practice and patient care. The Professional Standards Department is responsible for setting standards for surgeons who are not in training and providing guidance on how to meet these standards.
