Tribute to a loved one

Adopt a book

Adopting a book from the Library in memory of a friend or family member is an ideal way to commemorate a loved one.

By adopting a book, your long-lasting gift will help us preserve our unique collections so that they can continue to be used and enjoyed for many years to come.

One volume of collected tracts and pamphlets or a single journal volume can be rebound in buckram with gold lettering for £50.  For donations of £150 and above you can have a specially inscribed bookplate placed in your adopted book or journal which can be dedicated as you wish in their memory.

To help you choose, the Library has identified a number of books that require treatment or repair. You can select a book from the list or, alternatively, let the Library select a book for you. If your chosen book has already been adopted we will let you know and endeavour to find a book in a similar subject area that also requires treatment.

Completed adopt a book forms should be returned to the Development Office however, for queries on book selection and your dedication please contact the Library direct on 020 7869 6555 or email library@rcseng.ac.uk if this is more convenient.

Gifts of items/Collections

If you would like to make a gift of an item or collection to the College from a late family member we kindly ask that you write detailing your gift be it of books, an instrument or a collection of papers.

On receipt, we will seek advice from the relevant department as to whether the College is able to accept your kind offer and will then of course respond to you as soon as is possible.
