Views: the profession and membership

We asked members for their current views on the profession, and on membership. Clare Marx, RCS President, has addressed the topics raised in her introductory video, and we've developed a five-point commitment to you going forward.

Views on the profession

What would you say are the main issues facing surgeons
in their workplace at present?

How do you feel about how things are in the
surgical profession at present?

Views on membership

Thinking generally, how important is it to
be fellow or member of the RCS?

Which of these best describes the way you
would speak of the RCS to other people?

To what extent are you satisfied or disatisfied
with your RCS membership?

We asked those who said they were dissatisfied with their membership, to tell us why. We've grouped their answers into four overarching categories, as shown below.

We acknowledge that these issues need to be addressed and we’ve incorporated them into our five-point commitment to you.
