Clinical Lead and Working Group member – CCrISP and START

The Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS England) wishes to recruit a clinical lead as well as members of a working group and external advisors to support the redevelopment of the hugely successful CCrISP® programme and its related programmes such as START. These programmes focus on the practical skills and knowledge needed to look after surgical patients including those who are deteriorating or at risk of doing so. Learning includes the development of practical, theoretical and personal skills in a safe environment.

We welcome volunteers from a variety of backgrounds and experience. We are keen to build a community of faculty who can act as role models to course participants and represent the diversity of people who work in surgery.

For roles within this project, it would be beneficial if applicants had experience or interest in some of the following:

  • Delivering surgical training to surgeons of mixed specialities;
  • Developing surgical training programmes.

For those applying for the clinical lead role, we would also advise you refer to the person specification document.

Informal advice may be sought from the Learning and Development Lead, Liz Brookfield, lbrookfield@rcseng.ac.uk.

Clinical Lead Applications: Those interested should send:

  • a CV, focusing on how they meet the person specification below;
  • a short statement of how they would carry out the role and why they are the right person to lead this piece of work;
  • the names of two referees.

These should be sent to AKujaszewska@rcseng.ac.uk. We will be following a ‘blind shortlisting’ process and so names and other personal information will be removed from your CV before the applications are shortlisted for interview.

Closing date for receipt of applications is Thursday 20 May 2021. Interview dates are still to be confirmed but will be held via a virtual meeting.

Working Group/Advisors: Those interested in these roles should send a CV and a short statement focusing on how they would like to get involved to: AKujaszewska@rcseng.ac.uk

Closing date for receipt of applications is Thursday 24 June 2021.
