Overview
The Commission on the Future of Surgery gazed twenty years into the future to identify advances in medicine and technology that are likely to change surgical care. We analysed evidence and assessed the implications of such developments for patients, the surgical profession and the healthcare system.
We are delighted to be hosting a conference to take a closer look at some key findings of the report and practical approaches to how you can take your first steps into the future of surgery.
The event will be chaired by the London Regional Directors, Saroj Das, Dorothy Kufei and Huma Sethi. Richard Kerr, chair of the commission and RCS Council member, will join the team to introduce delegates to the findings of the report and discuss the practical applications of the findings for the whole surgical team.
How will you benefit?
Attending this event will provide you with:
• An update on how robotics are influencing theatres, training and practice.
• An overview of how genomics is impacting surgery and surgical practice.
• An insight into innovations in learning that are changing how you teach and learn your craft.
Who should attend?
This one-day event is aimed at the whole surgical team and is suitable for all grades including SAS surgeons, core and specialty trainees, consultants, extended team members and surgical managers. The event will be CPD accredited and certification provided.
