Operating with feeling: a workshop on surgery and emotion
- Free ( £20 refundable deposit)
‘Operating with Feeling’ will bring together surgeons, historians and policymakers to discuss the emotional experiences of surgery, past and present.
This one-day workshop will be divided into three sessions, each of which will explore different emotional issues affecting today's surgeons.
- Stress, Burnout and Bullying;
- Anxiety, Doubt and Grief;
- Compassion and Sympathy.
Each session will open with a panel, comprising informal presentations from three different speakers. The presentations will be followed by a Q&A and then a breakout discussion where delegates can explore the issue in more depth and consider opportunities and challenges in surgical training and practice.
