Event Overview

Location: The Principal Manchester

This one day conference is aimed at consultant and SAS surgeons.

Hosted by Professor Farah Bhatti, Women in Surgery Chair, the day includes sessions focused on the following key topics:

  • Maximsing your potential; Leadership and resilience
  • Helping each other build a strong profession
  • The future of WinS - Supporting the next generation of surgeons; How to be a good role model

We are pleased to announce Sophie Walker, Leader of the Womens Equality Party will be delivering a keynote lecture.

In addition we also have Dr Laura Davies, Labour general election candidate and MRCS will be be telling us what spurred her on to stand for parliament and how she hopes to make a difference.


The female presidency, three years on will see Miss Clare Marx (RCS), Prof Jane Dacre (RCP) and Dr Suzy Lishman (RCPath) deliver a session on leadership. What qualities do you need to be a good leader? How to develop leadership skills and what is the difference between leading vs managing?
