Below we provide answers to frequently asked questions about FDS/FGDP Diplomates presentation ceremonies.
If you are planing on attending a RCS presentation ceremony, please read the RCS Diplomate ceremonies FAQs
How and when do I get invited to a ceremony?
If you are unable to attend the ceremony that you have been invited to, we can either post your certificate to you, or, you will be invited to the following one in March 2020. We send invites 4-5 months ahead of a ceremony so please keep an eye on your inbox and book early to avoid disappointment.
Please note that FDS/FGDP ceremonies only occur once a year. If you are unable to attend the March 2019 ceremonies, you will receive an invitation for the follwing ceremony taking place in March 2020.
Are there additional guest tickets available?
There are no tickets left for my ceremony, what do I do now?
I am unable to attend my ceremony, will I be invited to another?
Applying for a visa?
I do not wish to attend a ceremony, can my certificate be sent to me by post?
FGDP - receiving your certificate
FGDP Diplomates do not receive their diploma certificate on the day of the ceremony as these are sent out by the Faculty, prior to the event. FGDP Diplomates will shake the Dean’s hand instead of receive a certificate on the stage.
FDS - receiving more than one qualification?
Key timings on the day
For our March 2019 FDS and FGDP ceremonies, timings are the same for both events.
Key timings are as follows:
1.00pm Registration opens
2.30pm Registration closes
3.00pm Ceremony starts
4.15/4.30pm Afternoon tea with the Dean and Board Members
Please note that timings of future ceremonies will vary.
What do I have to wear?
Will my seats be reserved?
Guest seating is unreserved.
Please advise us if you or any of your guests have any access or seating requirements, e.g. wheel-chair access/hearing loop access.
Once you have received your diploma you will not be returning to the same seat as you were originally assigned. It is therefore essential that you do not have any personal belongings with you when you enter the ceremony hall. Please leave them with a guest or use the cloakroom facilities provided.
