Staff, Associate Specialists and Specialty Doctors
The RCS conducts an annual workforce census of all non-training grade surgeons who are currently practicing in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The purpose of the census is to develop an in-depth understanding of the profile of the surgical workforce, as well as the trends and conditions around surgical practice.
Recognising the highly significant contribution of SAS surgeons to the surgical service, we wish to ensure that SAS workforce information is captured and included in workforce planning and development and used to inform how we can more effectively support surgeon’s careers.
Workforce information will feed into surgical workforce planning at local and national level, which is vital in the current changing climate within the NHS. It will enable the College to effectively represent and support surgeons across a range of areas and ultimately lead to improved patient care.
We are asking all SAS surgeons to participate in the next workforce survey. If you would like to take part please register your details and we will send you the next survey for completion.
