Masterclass in Orofacial Anatomy

This masterclass delivered by the legendary Professor Vishy Mahadevan and Professor St John Crean is aimed at dental foundation trainees, specialist trainees and qualified staff to familiarise themselves with those aspects of orofacial anatomy which are of particular relevance to oral surgical practice, including: local anaesthesia; dental implants; odontogenic infections; dentoalveolar surgery and related complications; and sinus surgery.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this masterclass, participants will:

  • understand the relevant anatomy for local anaesthesia, dental implants, odontogenic infections, dentoalveolar surgery and related complications, sinus surgery;
  • have a better understanding of the anatomical basis to a variety of local anaesthetic techniques;
  • have a clear understanding of the anatomical hazards associated with various oral surgical procedures.

Format

This course will be delivered via a series of interactive lectures and practical demonstration workshops.
