Event overview

Drawing on the Royal College of Surgeons' extensive holdings of medieval and early modern plague texts and medical pamphlets, this lecture explores the theories and techniques surgeons used to protect the public from the pestilence and to treat those who fell victim to it.

In addition to the lecture, there will be a rare book display that can be viewed afterwards, along with refreshments.
