Out at the College: Inaugural RCS England LGBTQ+ Conference and drinks reception

As part of our commitment to putting diversity at the heart of our strategy, we are delighted to host our first LGBTQ+ conference. As a College, we are proud to support LGBTQ+ surgeons to be themselves and to help them thrive as professionals. This event will form a key part of our action plan in response to the Kennedy Report and to ensure surgery can be a more welcoming and inclusive career. 

The Royal College of Surgeons of England has awarded up to 5 CPD points.

Why attend?

This full-day event, followed by a drinks reception at The View, is aimed at all LGBTQ+ surgeons and members of the extended surgical care team, as well as any member of the extended surgical team who is interested in championing diversity in surgery. Expect an exciting day of inspirational talks, networking with like-minded colleagues at the home of surgery, and helping RCS England to shape the discussion on diversity in surgery.

And for those who are not able to join us in person at the College, there is the option to join us online.

Who should come?

Any member of the surgical team who identifies as LGBTQ+ or anyone who is interested in supporting their LGBTQ+ colleagues and teams.

The event is open to all grades from medical students and the wider team to consultant and SAS surgeons, surgical leaders and everyone in between.

Which ticket should I select and how much does it cost?

Tickets are available to attend in-person and online. Online ticket are from £15 and in-person tickets for RCS England member tickets are £45 with discounts available for medical students and foundation doctors .

Online tickets will give you access to the virtual event and in-person tickets will give you access to the virtual event and the in-person event at RCS England's Lincoln Inn Fields site.

RCS England members, including affiliates, associates and fellows can access discounted tickets to the event. For details on how to join as an affiliate or associate or transfer your membership please see our website. The affiliate scheme is £15 for medical students and foundation doctors to join. Non-RCS England members should select the non-member ticket.

Please note for foundation doctors and medical students we advise joining as an affiliate to access the reduced price.
