Event overview

What might the next chapter of your career look like?

Retirement is different for everyone. For some, it may mean stepping away from surgery completely. For others, it could mean changing how they work, continuing in a different capacity or exploring new opportunities.

Join us at 6pm on 21 October for an interactive online session exploring the different ways you can approach this important transition. Hear from senior fellows about their experiences, explore the factors that can influence when and how you retire and consider different ways to transition from surgical practice.

What you'll take away

  • a better understanding of the different experiences of transitioning to retirement;
  • insight into the personal, professional and organisational factors that can influence your decisions;
  • practical approaches to planning your transition, including different ways of changing your working pattern;
  • time to reflect on your own priorities, motivations and what a fulfilling transition could look like;
  • ideas to help you plan for the next chapter and the professional legacy you want to leave.

Spaces are free and reserved for RCS England members and fellows. For information on how to join RCS England please see our membership pages.
