Event overview

Join us at the College in London on Wednesday 25 November for the Senior Fellows' Society 2026 Annual General Meeting. Featuring insightful lectures, guided tours and the popular Senior Fellows' Society Dinner,  this much anticipated annual event is a perfect opportunity to visit the College, reconnect with friends and colleagues, and hear engaging talks from selected speakers. Senior Fellows are welcome to bring guests to all parts of this event.

To start the day, we have arranged guided tours of places of interest,  followed by lunch at the College and an afternoon of specially curated talks. In the evening, you can round off the day with a drinks reception and a lavish, three-course, festively decorated dinner.

You can book all three parts of the day or choose only those you wish to attend.

Morning activities:

Choose one of the following experiences.

  • Option 1 - Guided tour of Somerset House: In this 1 hour experience, you'll take a walk through the varied and surprising history of the site, take a peek behind closed doors, step into our fascinating Deadhouse, explore an unrivalled architectural gem and learn more about the very special story of this building and amazing individuals who have lived and worked here across the centuries.
  • Option 2 - Guided tour of Royal Albert Hall:You’ll discover how the building was founded 150 years ago, the royal love story that made it happen, and how we solved one of the UK’s most enduring engineering challenges – the Royal Albert Hall echo. This tour will also include certain behind-the-scenes elements such as the royal areas, including the royal box and entrance.
  • Option 3 - Hunterian Museum guided visit plus Library and Research Room display of rare collection items: Uncover the wonders of medical history at the College's prestigious Hunterian Museum and have a chance to explore items from the archives in the Lumley Library Research Room.

Afternoon:

Our afternoon starts with hot lunch at the Park View in the College, followed by afternoon talks, chaired by Senior Fellows' Society Chair, Mr Bill Thomas. This year's programme features an outstanding line-up of speakers:

  • Dr Helen Bygrave giving a presentation about the global standards of diabetes care.
  • Mr Jeremy Ganz presenting an in-depth talk on the history of craniosurgery.
  • Mr Tim Lane, President of RCS England, providing an update on College activities and strategic priorities.
  • Miss Rachel Hargest, RCS England Council member, speaking about the College's international work and its partnership with the London School of Economics through the Global Surgical Policy Unit (GSPU).
  • Mr David Jones sharing a preview of what attendees can expect from the 2027 Senior Fellows' Society Summer meeting in Manchester.

Evening:

Conclude the day with a drinks reception followed by the Senior Fellows' Society Dinner in the festively decorated Park View.
