Event Overview

Overview

Consent is a core component of surgical practice. Gaining a patient’s consent and documenting this sufficiently is an issue that often presents difficulties and highlights the need to tailor information to the patient’s individual needs. An inadequate consent process can damage the surgeon-patient relationship and can also result in legal challenges and litigation.

How will you benefit?

Tune into our webinar on Wednesday 1 April to receive practical advice on how to meet the legal and regulatory requirements around the consent process and how to protect a patient’s rights to make decisions about their treatment.

This webinar, chaired by senior Council members, supports our Good Surgical Practice Guide, released in 2016, which is a comprehensive and easy to follow guide for surgeons and the wider surgical team.

Who should tune in?

All career grades, including members of the SAS and the extended Surgical Care Team. The webinar is available for free to all our associate and affiliate members.

Please note that the RCS Webinar and Events programme is subject to change. In the event that we are unable to run a session we will endeavor to notify all participants in a timely fashion and where possible offer a suitable alternative.
