Comment by Professor Michael Escudier on the death of Professor Jimmy Steele CBE

17 Nov 2017

Professor Michael Escudier, Dean of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, said:

“I was very saddened to hear of the death of Professor Steele, who made an enormous contribution to dentistry and oral health. He was a great advocate for the profession, not least through his leadership of the independent review of NHS dental services, and was held in the very highest regard by all his peers.

On behalf of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, and the Royal College of Surgeons as a whole, we offer our sincerest condolences to Professor Steele’s family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time, and our thanks to him for all he achieved during an outstanding career.”
