Any expected delay caused by the buyer, third-party supplier or any other company connected to the project that is not under the sellers' control, must be communicated promptly to the seller. The seller will not cover the cost of delays caused by the buyer or third-party supplier beyond what is reasonable or expected from the project plan. If the buyer would like to retain resources during a significant delay, the buyer will be expected to cover the cost or forgoe the resource.

The end date for this Statement of Work is: 15/07/2023 (“End Date”).

ClerksWell are attempting to deploy a collection of important and normal priority tickets to Sitecore ahead of the v10.2 upgrade. This is partly to bundle everything up in a single code merge process at their end, but also because they want to validate the success of one ticket in a live environment (as well as UAT). The consequence of not deploying in time is that this work is lost or the upgrade project is delayed.

ree Facebook pages (RCS England, Women in Surgery and FDS); one LinkedIn business page and one Instagram business account. The Hunterian Museum also has their own Twitter and Facebook channels.

For consistency, we use images in 1200px x 675px on our channels (except Instagram). The exceptions are real-life photos from events and graphs that cannot reasonably fit into that size. Instagram accepts images ranging from 1080px x 566px (landscape) to 1080px x 1350px (portrait). When commissioning images for Instagram, use 1080px x 1080px. Instagram stories are 1080px x 1920px without exception.

In over 200 years, George James Guthrie remains an exemplar among our college’s most iconic surgeons. Whilst the names of John Hunter, Sir Astley Paston Cooper and the Lords Joseph Lister and Berkeley Moynihan and Victoria Holloway justly stand out in the advancement of British surgery, the name of Guthrie is less easily recalled. Born in London on 1 May 1785 of Celtic descent, George Guthrie was privately

Hello!

This newspiece is taken from a letter sent to members and fellows of the RCS on 24 March 2020. Updated information and resources from RCS on the COVID-19 pandemic can be found at rcseng.ac.uk/covid19

Dear RCS Fellows & Members, Chi-chi

We are writing to you in this difficult time to ask for your support in two collaborative audit projects that will give clinicians in the UK, and around the world, high-quality data to support surgical decision making. James

For at least the last three years, the main site has suffered from slowdowns and outages when exposed to 30-40 users simultaneously attempting to perform data-related functionality like logging in or registering for a course, usually with disastrous results. Earlier this year, IT and Digital / ClerksWell made a joint effort to correct the issue, both by fixing things that could be causing the problem and by addressing the ‘good to haves’ and hygiene factors that might magnify the symptoms of the problem. This work was undertaken on the understanding that the problem(s) could be in several different places – Sitecore build, server configuration etc. The changes identified by IT

Update post CAB: we agreed that the ticket needed narrower testing than initially suggested, so we don’t need the long UAT period. We can test on UAT/staging as long as we can make a transaction with a BC test card and a SIMS test user. We can now test this all on one day: Tues Dec 6th.

While Barclaycard initially assured us that Transact was a push-button implementation job, it’s emerged (after quite a lot of back-and-forth and assurances to the contrary) that there are actually technical requirements for its installation and operation. These will involve someone working with uCommerce and likely validating changes in Barclaycard’s dashboard via RCS’s finance team. The two aspects are:

1) There are currently 14 pages (incl. the 4 necessary legal pages) plus three documents (2 PDFs, one Word document) that make up the site. It’s mostly text, with a single image of George Drexler on the Home page.

2) Google Analytics is set up on the site. James to provide the code so we can incorporate it in the new site.

3) We recommend merging a few pages, but still keep a menu bar option to go to the same sections as you currently see on the site. This ensures the information is more easily found by potential applicants as there are fewer pages to go through.

a) Merge “About us” and Trustees pages (with a menu item to still take visitors directly to the Trustees section)

b) Merge “Medical Schools” and “How To Apply” pages too, pages (with a menu item to still take visitors directly to the “How To Apply” section)

Timeline

We would like to push for a June start so the eLearning functionality can have the most ROI on the website. The current provisional timeline gives us roughly a 2-month project from start to finish. We will need 2/3 weeks lead time to secure resources meaning project sign off must happen no later than 16/05/2023.

We are giving users 2 weeks to review their respective folders and then we will start working on the clear-out. While we perform the clear-out, the process of saving new files/images will be the same. The only exception is that you may see an ‘Archive’ folder: that’s where all the current files/images will be moved, please do not add any new items to these folders.

CovidSurg is an international, multicentre, pan-specialty study that will evaluate the outcomes of surgical patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 infection. Capturing real-world data and sharing international experience will inform the management of this complex group of patients who undergo surgery throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, improving their clinical care - Barbara

We must also consider the secondary and tertiary impact of COVID-19 on surgical patients. CovidSurg-Cancer will assess the safety of continuing elective cancer surgery during the COVID-19 pandemic, and evaluate the impact of delay to surgery on patient outcomes and treatment pathways.

The studies have been designed by an international collaborating group of surgeons and anaesthetists, with leadership from the United Kingdom, Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, Singapore, Spain, and the United States. Within one-week of conception, the studies have gained registrations from 2000 collaborators in 900 hospitals across 95 countries. The studies are being supported by the NIHR Unit on Global Surgery and the European Society of Coloproctology, and have gained endorsement by several national and international surgical organisations and associations to date.

These are not studies that will collect data, and wait to report back in 12- to 18-months’ time; data is urgently needed now to guide practice. CovidSurg and CovidSurg-Cancer will feedback early, and regularly, with open-access to short reports and summary data for all investigators. This will allow us to optimise patient selection and perioperative processes to maintain patient safety during this unprecedented period of uncertainty.

We have reached a key milestone in our flagship Parents in Surgery project, launching a new report earlier this week. This marks the first phase of our response to recommendations made in the Kennedy Review, which found the experience of parents in surgery to be 'extremely challenging and stressful’ and demanding ‘urgent attention.' The report is relevant to all in the surgical profession, providing practical recommendations for how we can retain a more diverse and effective workforce. Read the full report.

The overall aim is to bring people together with a neutral third party who will help them reach an understanding and settle a dispute or disagreement on their own terms.

To read more, and to register your centre for either, or both studies, please visit globalsurg.org/covidsurg

The monitoring process requires participants of accredited courses to be provided with the opportunity to evaluate their educational experience shortly after the conclusion of the course. This feedback must be collected by the course organisers and provided to the College’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department at intervals to be mutually agreed.
