Anatomy and Pathology Collections

The specimens on display in the Anatomy and Pathology Museum come from the RCS England Museums Anatomy and Pathology collections. There are many additional specimens from these collections held in store which are available on request to support education and research.

Please search the RCS England Museums catalogue or contact the museums if you require further detailed information on specific anatomy and pathology specimens.

A majority of specimens in these collections are less than 100 years old and fall under the Human Tissue Act (2004). RCS England holds a Human Tissue Authority Licence (Licence Number 12423) which allows use of these to support education and training.

Further information on human remains in the museum collections can be found on the Hunterian Museum website,

Photography of the anatomy and pathology collections is not permitted. In some circumstances the museums will be able to provide images to support medical research and learning purposes. Please contact the museums for further information.
