Overview

This event will help you take positive steps towards combating stress and burnout, successfully supporting the wellbeing of yourself and your team and creating a positive working environment.

Recent studies have revealed a high level of burnout among surgeons and medical professionals in the UK. The GMC has recognised the need to support doctors’ physical and mental wellbeing in their report 'Caring for doctors, caring for patients'.

Pressure within this profession has lead to serious psychological and emotional conditions. So, how can you support yourself and your team?

How will you benefit?

Attending this event will provide:

  • Tips and discussions on how to prevent burnout and build resilience personally and in the surgical team.
  • An insight into how the RCS and other organisations are working to support surgeons and the theatre teams.
  • An overview of how physical health and wellbeing can impact performance and mental health.

Who should attend?

This one-day event is suitable for all grades including SAS surgeons, core and specialty trainees, consultants, extended team members and surgical managers. The event will be CPD accredited and certification will be provided.
