Interview Skills Masterclass 2026

Join us for the Interview Skills Masterclass on Wednesday 9 December, 6pm – 7.30pm, which focuses on the interview process for Core Surgical Training. The Masterclass is chaired by RCS England Council member Ian Kamaly-Asl, who will be joined by Kathryn Ford, Consultant Paediatric Surgeon and Lilli Cooper, Professional Co-Active Coach, who will be providing practical insight and advice on how to succeed at all elements of the Core Surgical Training interviews and Ester Mikova, a Core Surgical Trainee from Wales who will be sharing their recent experience of the interview process. 

This masterclass will include practical advice on optimising your performance for surgical interviews, understanding the interview process and how a current core surgical trainee managed the process and will include advice on how best to approach the Multi-Specialty Recruitment Assessment (MSRA). 

This is the first of a two-part series, with the second part on 20 January 2027.

By the end of the session you will be able to: 

• Gain practical advice on how to prepare for and perform confidently in surgical interviews
• Develop effective strategies for approaching and excelling in the MSRA
• Build confidence through expert guidance on showcasing your skills, experience and potential
