Event Overview
The Surgical Studies Sandpit Day will help surgical trainees and consultants develop an understanding of how surgical research can benefit their careers, and the unique opportunities provided by collaboration.
Hosted by The Royal College of Surgeons of England's North West Surgical Trials Collaboration, the agenda will include:
- How to get training in surgical research
- Device development and ‘first in man’ studies
- Developing and running a device trial
- The role of the Research Design Service
- How to get involved in and succeed at Collaborative Research
- The TEXAS study: how we did it
Surgical Sandpit: an opportunity to make use of surgical research expertise
We are inviting trainees and consultant to submit study or trial ideas. These can be multicentre audits, cohort studies or clinical trials. Four submissions will be selected for presentation and discussion. Feedback on study design and expert advice on how to develop the study will be provided.
