Future Surgeons Forum
The Future Surgeons Forum was set up by the Royal College of Surgeons to improve links between medical schools, foundation doctors and the RCS at a student level. The committee has a student representative from most medical schools in the UK.
The forum's primary objective is to promote surgery as a career choice among medical students and foundation doctors. In order to achieve this, student representatives either have set up or are setting up individual surgical societies in their own medical schools.
Representatives from these societies can share their experiences and best practice, and tell the RCS what needs to be improved for future students.
If you would like to contribute, you will need to do so through your university's surgical society.
Foundation Year 1 Doctors Required
We are delighted to announce that we are looking for Foundation Year 1 Doctors to join our Future Surgeons Forum (FSF). As a Foundation representative you will support the work of the Royal College of Surgeons in promoting surgery as a career choice to medical students and foundation doctors, and help to develop improved provision for this group.
Foundation Year 1 Doctors who join the FSF will have the opportunity to influence the work of the RCS at all levels of surgical training, as well as demonstrating their interest in surgery and commitment to supporting junior trainees.
We are seeking applications from upcoming FY1 doctors. Applicants must be affiliate members of the RCS.
The deadline for applications is Friday 28 June.
To apply, please download the application pack.
Date of the next meeting
