Recruitment is open for Close it Quick - ileostomy Closure Quality Improvement (QI) Collaborative, and will close on 31 July 2025.
There is a one-off cost of £7,500 (plus VAT) per trust or health board to join the project. In addition, trusts and health boards need to cover their travel and expenses to any in-person meetings. The named project lead and data lead should be allocated time in their job plan to lead the project locally.
If your trust or health board is considering joining Close it Quick, we encourage you to attend our informational webinar from 6–7pm on Wednesday 9 July 2025. This session is designed for those interested in learning more about the collaborative, including what’s involved, our support and the benefits of participating. You’ll also hear directly from the clinical leads and have the opportunity to ask questions. For further details, please email closeitquick@rcseng.ac.uk

Why is Close it Quick important?
The NBOCA report demonstrates unequivocally that ileostomy closure rates in England and Wales are need major focus and attention with this situation only worsening following the impact of the pandemic on waiting lists. Join our new QI Collaborative which will empower surgical care teams across England and Wales to address this and improve patient care and patient experience.
