Delivered over two days this hands-on course will increase your skills in laparoscopic surgery including suturing and knot tying.
During a range of intensive and highly interactive workshop sessions that are delivered by experienced faculty, you will have numerous opportunities to learn more advanced techniques such as laparoscopic gastroenterostomy, laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair and the use of laparoscopic staplers.

Learning Outcomes
After attending this course, you should be able to:
- Outline the principles of good ergonomic port placement and surgeon and instrument positioning
- Demonstrate a range of advanced suturing and knot tying techniques
- Perform advanced laparoscopic surgery procedures including closure of a hiatus hernia and a secure fundoplication on a model
- Demonstrate how to use an ultrasonic dissector effectively
- Demonstrate wide-ranging knowledge in laparoscopic surgery and operative procedures, including gastroenterostomy and laparoscopic pyloroplasty
Format
Intermediate Skills in Laparoscopic Surgery is a highly practical course. It centres on a series of intensive practical workshop sessions using high-quality laparoscopic equipment.
These sessions are intermixed with short interactive lectures, video presentations, demonstrations and discussions.
