Recommendations for a future national audit of cosmetic surgery

As part of the Keogh recommendations, the CSIC was asked to ‘establish and oversee a clinical audit database for cosmetic surgery working with the Healthcare Quality improvement Partnership (HQIP)’.

As a starting point for others to take forward, the CSIC recommends that an audit reviews adherence to agreed service standards and collects essential demographic data about the current practice within cosmetic surgery.

Funding and organisational ownership is required to achieve this and we ask relevant stakeholders to consider how they might take this forward.
