Global Appeal 2023 - Fill in the GAPS
The Royal College of Surgeons of England belongs to a worldwide community of surgeons. Together we strive to improve, learn, share and build for our patients. They are the beginning and end of everything we do.
This year, we launched our appeal supporting Global Access to Paediatric Surgery. Working with our project partners, the appeal will provide the highest calibre of training at the United Bulawayo Hospital, Zimbabwe. This is the first residency programme in Zimbabwe for orthopaedic paediatric surgery, establishing an expanding cohort of newly qualified surgeons in a country where there are currently 300,000 children living with treatable disabilities.
Please consider making a donation to our Global Appeal. We have a target of £15,000 which will create a new paediatric orthopaedic course. With your support, the programme will provide trainees with hands-on, immersive training in a hospital environment which sees a vast range of orthopaedic conditions every week. Assisting in the skills development of the region’s surgical workforce in this way is a direct and cost efficient way of improving access and readiness for surgical patients.
