Participant Feedback Questionnaire
Providing a quality mark for surgical education
Participant feedback questionnaire: face-to-face course
Feedback from course participants plays a key role in the assurance and enhancement of the quality of surgical education accredited by the RCS.
The RCS has developed a questionnaire to elicit feedback from participants on face-to-face surgical education courses. The items in the questionnaire reflect the College's Education Standards. Assessing whether the participants have achieved their intended learning outcomes is central to the questionnaire. Providers are requested to use this questionnaire or a comparable form of participant evaluation, reflecting the College's Education Standards.
Depending on the course, not all the questions may be applicable - for example, the questions about the suitability of instruments and tissue only relate to a course with a hands-on element. Respondents should mark such items as 'not applicable'.
Providers of face-to-face courses are requested to ask course participants to complete the questionnaire. Providers are asked to keep all completed questionnaires, and to provide the RCS Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department qa@rcseng.ac.uk with a summary report on the feedback provided, including a summary of participants' open text comments, and to indicate how the course will respond as appropriate to the feedback.
Participant feedback questionnaire: online course
The RCS has developed a questionnaire to elicit feedback from participants who have undertaken an online surgical education course. Providers are requested to use this questionnaire or a comparable form of participant evaluation, reflecting the College's Education Standards.
