The Royal College of Surgeons of England has responded to figures, published today by Stats Wales, that show the number of patients waiting for treatment in Wales has now reached 624,909. Surgeons have warned of further increases to waiting times without significant and sustained investment in Covid-light surgical hubs and training more surgeons, nurses and anaesthetists.

The Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS England) has opened its new headquarters in London today (12 July 2021). The College’s Lincoln’s Inn Fields building has been transformed from a sprawling warren of corridors, built in the aftermath of WWII, to a state-of-the-art training centre for future generations of surgeons and dental professionals.

Two leading surgeons will cycle from Land’s End to John o’Groats, to raise vital funds for pioneering surgical research and Myeloma UK. Miss Susan Hill and Mr Tim Mitchell, both Council Members at the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS), will set off from Land's End on Saturday 10th July 2021, to cycle 1,000 miles to John O’Groats, arriving on Sunday 25th July, 2021. They hope to reach their fundraising target of £10,000
